Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position, she covers all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly created Space Force, to commercial companies in space and the rise of space tourism. Being the daughter and the mother of two NASA astronauts, Kristin was raised in the field of space and has spent the last five years reporting on the Biden and Trump Space policies of the administration as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. Over the course of this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the corona virus pandemic, and two other administrations' efforts. Kristin was on the road extensively, including both the vice president and president. The reporter even took a secret trip to Afghanistan together with Donald Trump. Before joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through local TV news markets in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for corporate customers including Uber Hotels and Resorts as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned a bachelors of Science of Journalism at Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
